Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
1. What we collect
- Account info — email, password (hashed), and any profile details you add (name, username, age, bio, avatar, socials, interests).
- Content — posts, stories, messages you send.
- Location — approximate coordinates if you grant location permission, used only to power the discovery radius.
- Usage — basic logs (timestamps, IP, device) for security and abuse prevention.
2. How we use it
- To operate the service: show you people nearby, deliver messages, host posts.
- To keep the platform safe: respond to reports, detect abuse, enforce our Terms.
- To improve the product: aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. What other people see
Your name, username, age, city, bio, avatar, interests, posts, and social links are visible to other signed-in users. Your exact coordinates are never shown — only an approximate distance.
4. Messaging
Direct messages are stored so they can be delivered to the recipient. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not share sensitive information through messages.
5. Minors
SocialMe is not for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us so we can delete it.
6. Your controls
- Edit or delete your profile and posts at any time.
- Block any account from settings or their profile.
- Report content or accounts that violate our rules.
- Delete your account from settings; we remove your profile and content.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted storage and row-level access controls. No system is perfectly secure — keep your password strong and unique.
8. Changes
We will post any updates to this policy here and adjust the "Last updated" date above.
