Community Guidelines
SocialMe is for meeting real people near you and growing a real following. These rules apply everywhere on SocialMe — profiles, posts, moments, stories, comments and direct messages. Breaking them can get content removed, features limited, or an account permanently suspended.
1. Be a real person
One account per person, using your own photos and your real presence. No impersonating other people, brands or public figures, no recycled or stolen photos, and no accounts that exist only to farm followers.
You must be at least 13 years old to use SocialMe. Accounts we believe belong to children are removed.
2. No harassment or hate
No targeted insults, threats, stalking, sexual harassment, outing, or pile-ons. No slurs or dehumanising content aimed at people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, illness, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
If someone won't leave you alone, block them. Blocking is silent — they aren't told, and you disappear from each other's feeds, moments, search results and messages.
3. Keep it appropriate
No nudity or sexually explicit content, no sexual content involving minors of any kind, and no content that exists mainly to solicit sex. No graphic violence, gore, or animal cruelty.
4. No dangerous or illegal activity
Nothing promoting terrorism or organised violence, weapons or drug sales, human trafficking, fraud, hacking, or any other illegal transaction. Content encouraging self-harm, suicide or eating disorders is removed — if you're struggling, please reach out to local emergency services or a crisis line.
5. No spam or manipulation
No bulk unsolicited DMs, engagement pods, bought followers, misleading links, phishing, or fake giveaways. Linked social accounts and follower stats must be genuinely yours — inflating your influence score with fake or borrowed accounts gets the score reset and can get the account suspended.
6. Respect privacy
Don't post other people's private information — addresses, phone numbers, IDs, financial details — or share private messages, photos or videos of someone without their consent. Your approximate location is only used to show you people nearby, at the radius you choose in Settings.
7. Reporting and enforcement
You can report any account, post, moment, comment or message using the report option on that item. Reports go to our moderation queue with the reason you chose; we review them and can remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts.
Reports are confidential — the person you report is never told who reported them. We don't share the outcome of individual reviews. Repeated or malicious false reporting is itself a violation.
If you think we got a decision wrong, reply to the notification email or contact us from Settings → Help center.
